February 8, 2007 at 5:28 amI think you need to convert the mpegs to a file format Avid recognizes, like Quicktime. Avid doesn’t like mpeg files. Use a third party app like Sorenson Squeeze. Quicktime Pro might do it–does it read mpeg? I don’t use Quicktime Pro, so I’m not sure. Or do a google search for mpeg conversion software. Should turn something up.

MPEG Streamclip works as advertised, and it’s FREE!

February 8, 2007 at 5:56 pmThanks for the tip. I tried MPEG Streamclip and like the other converter I downloaded it kept giving me an error message.
I’m starting to think there is a problem with these MPEG2s. -

February 8, 2007 at 6:01 pmThanks for the advice. I’ve tried 2 conversion softwares now and keep getting error messages. Sorenson was successful but the frame and file size is smaller. Can Sorenson keep the same aspect ratio when converting to a QT movie?
