Hi, I also posted this message in the Trapcode Forum, but not sure if it is an After Effects or a Trapcode Problem. If anyone has any suggestions or help, it would be greatly appreciated!

I just purchased and installed Trapcode Shine. When I went to apply Shine to a layer, I got the following error:

“After Effects error: “C:\Program Files\Adobe After Effects 7.0\Support Files\Plug-ins\Trapcode\Shine.aex” could not be loaded (126).
    (48::46)”

Did I do something wrong during installation? I followed the instructions, and I have even uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and I get the same error message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Sandra

I am having the same problem with Shine, Starglow and 3D Stroke. We just bought them in a bundle, and each seemed to have installed fine. But once I open After Effects (6.5 in my case) and try to apply any of them, I get that message:

“After Effects error: “C:\Program Files\Adobe After Effects 6.5\Support Files\Plug-ins\Trapcode\Shine.aex” could not be loaded (126). (48::46)”

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

    Hi!

I ended up contacting Red Giant Software, and here is what they said:

“The reason this is not working is because of your current graphic card. We do not support Integrated type cards.
These cards do not support all of the necessary aspects for the GPU rendering.
    2 Options:
    1. You can upgrade your current graphic card to a supported card.
See following chart for example of supported cards:
    https://www.redgiantsoftware.com/knoll-light-factory-features.html#gpu

    2. If you do not want to upgrade your graphic card, I can send you a key for Shine v1 (does not require adequate graphic card).
If you choose this option, please provide me with your serial number for Shine v1.5.”

I hope this helps. I’m actually still waiting for my updated graphics card. Keep me posted on if it works or not and I’ll do the same.

    Good Luck-
    Sandra

Well I’m not impressed with their customer service at all.

This was my solution, which I found on someone’s post on the adobe forums:

Uninstall red giant link And your plugin.
Now install it again, but right click and install as admin.
When you install it lets you choose which versions. Choose both 2015.3 AND 2015

    That’s it.

It worked for me. It couldn’t hurt, other than potentially wasting some time. I had those errors and the issue definitely wasn’t graphics card. I changed nothing else. It’s a brand new computer, with a decent graphics card. When I’m plugged in, the computer has it’s choice of the built in Intel, 970M 6GB, or a Titan X 12GB. Those are Pretty new. I don’t think that should be happening.
