    I was using the 4 point garbage matte filter and animating a matte. When I went to apply the filter to another scene it pasted it on but only the first key fraame was apllied to the whole scene. I tried pasting attributes, replacing to no avail. I remember doing this in some earlier version maybe version 3. Am I alone on this or is this just plain nonsense.

    Try this:
    Duplicate the clip with the proper keyframes.
    Edit the clip you want to apply the garbage matte to into the timeline, then Copy that clip (command-c)
    Now, select the duplicate clip with the garbage matte & Paste Attributes (option-v), and choose “Paste Content”.
