So I just recently purchased the new Adobe CS4 suite. I have been playing around with the new illustrator, but whenever I draw something or add in text, It looks pixelated and and not smooth like a vector image should look like on a screen. I have a brand new MacBook Pro so I don’t think it has anything to do with my graphics card. I’m sure there is a button that is checked off or something that I am over looking. Please Help Me Figure This Out! Thanks-Ryan

Is your zoom level set above 100% for the canvas

    Yep,

All you have to do is check your anti-aliased artwork in the general preferences menu.

Try pushing command/control + option/alt + y. It depends on if you are on a pc or mac. It worked for me!

As none of the suggestions posted here solved my problem, I made the same question to my Ai teacher today, as I was in the same situation.
My teacher’s answer was simple and correct:

Go to “Document Raster Effects Settings” in the Effect Menu.
The resolution might be in 72, so change it to 300 and that’s it!

Hope this helps you, though many months have passed since that.

Yep, the control + option + y worked for me. Thanks for posting it.

With Sketch 3 open, Go to View > Hide or Show Pixels 🙂
