Please Help! Cannot see camera
I borrowed my friends sony mini dv cam so i can import some old tapes… i have been importing into imovie with my cannon hg20…. it imports digital clips in HD straight from the cam… but now i cannot import into imovie or final cut… i need this footage off tape and on my comp… in FC it says please select a video device in your capture presets… how do i do this…or get the camera to communicate with imovie however…just need to import badly!…thanks in advance for any help!

FCP might not recognise your HV20. It doesnt recognise my HV30. Use IMovie. First start Imovie and then connect the firewire cable. I fit doesnt restart your computer and your camera. It should work. Try manual import.

the HG20 is a file based camera. You should use Log and Transfer instead of log and capture.
hmm… I wonder what this button does…
