playback video from final cut pro to an hdtv monitor
I was wondering how I playback video from final cut pro to an hdtv monitor via firewire. When I playback in the canvas in final cut pro, it is displayed in the LCD screen on the camcorder but not on the tv. There is a connection present though because when I disconnect the firewire that goes from the camcorder to the monitor (for the computer), the tv senses that and goes blue, thus signifying a connection. We’re thinking it’s a problem within the camcorder though, maybe some setting that I can’t figure out. the camcorder is a Sony HDR-HC1 NTSC

You can not view HDV via firewire. You need an HD capture card. AJA or Blackmagic.
