Playback video breaks up then crashes whole program
Suddenly my playback images starts to break up, looking like old-school tape dropouts. Then crashes after 10-15 seconds. Seems to be triggered by a dissolve. Maybe hard drive going bad? Have i7 with 16 gb ram. using 7200rpm external drive with USB 3.

Cant say exactly for sure, but that could be an issue with your external Hard drive.

No, tried 2 other drives including SSDs. Will now try to re-install software.
