Playback through Blackmagic Decklink to an LCD TV
Hi
I am hoping that someone could shed some light on an issue I am having with premiere pro Playback to a Full HD LCD TV via a Blackmagic Decklink card.
The TV can only take two 1920×1080 inputs. That would be at 50i and 50p. This playback works on a 50 FPS timeline but when I make a 25fps timeline it won’t output at 50i or 50p to the LCD TV. Kind of an issue considering all of our working timelines in Premiere will be 25FPS.
Just curious as to why Premiere pro can’t use similar Playback options to After Effects where you can set your playback options regardless to what timeline/composition you are currently in.
Does anyone have a similar issue with Premiere Pro and Blackmagic cards or a fix?

Have you tried any cross conversion or standards setting within Blackmagic’s control panel (In Window’s Control Panel or OSX system settings).
Alternately, edit in a 50i timeline and then select-all-paste into a 25p timeline for export. The working timecode for either 50i or 25p is 25fps SMPTE standard timecode – all reference timecodes should work. That said… I wonder if progressive material in a 50i timeline would export without quality loss to 25p, my guess is yes in Premiere.
Just a small workflow change may be in order.
