playback problems!
I shot on a 7d canon still with video capablilty. imported it fine, can watch the clips with no jumps or anything, they go into the timeline fine and i clip and move and edit them fine in the timeline, however when i go to watch what i’ve got in the timeline it gets to the point of an edit and continues but the picture freezes for a second or two so i can’t see a smooth edit.
what can i do so it just plays through in real time?
i haven’t had this problem before so i’m assuming it’s due to the quality of the image (2K)
please help if you’ve experienced this or know how to fix it.

If the 7D probably records the the same format as the 5D Mark II, which is H.264 and H.264 is NOT an editing codec it is a delivery codec, you need to convert to the footage to a proper editing format.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

Compressor comes in th Final Cut Studio Bundle.
Many people have already asked how to do the conversion, do a forum search and you will find plenty of info.
