My system: G5 2.5 dual processor (not dual core). FCP 5.1.2, decklink SP. Running at 10 bit uncompressed through the decklink.

I just upgraded to this setup. All the sudden, I have issues when playing back video, it will play for a few seconds and then freeze. This is new as I’ve had the setup for a week and have not had this issue. Any ideas? Thanks.

Well, there are a lot of variables. Since I like to make sure that my hardware is behaving properly I would first try these things:

    1) Make sure your Decklink drivers are up to date with the OS, QT as well.
    2) Through away your FCP prefs
    3) Re-start the mac and hold the shift key while booting (safe mode). Once into safe mode, launch Disk Utility and repair permissions on the main drive first, and the other volumes next. Quit & restart.

    Hopefully that will do it.

Wow! Sounds like a horrfying process. How do you throw away the FCP prefs?
