Playback issue
I’ve been cutting on PP1.5, and now PP2 for years. At least once a week I run into this problem. I ma working on a project, and then I hit play to watch the timeline and NOTHING HAPPENS. The program is not frozen because I can still move the cursor around and save, but the timeline and all clips from the bin WILL NOT PLAY. No matter if I try to play the timeline by hitting return, or physically clicking the play button with the mouse, it refuses to play. Then I have to restart the program. And sometimes, that doesn’t even work. Once in a while the whole PC needs a reboot to fix the problem. What’s the deal here?

My guesses;
1. Virus or spyware scanners enabled at start up.
2. Serious multitasking with only 1 GB memory.Tell us a bit about your hardware config including external drives.
