    Hello All
Im having a problem with playback… I can look at the footage on my viewer just fine, but as I cut the video together in the timeline, I get glitches when i play it back in my canvas.
I dropped the footage in the timeline so the settings in the timeline would match the actual footage, which is 1920×1080 25fps(pal) with h.264 compressor. They will convert 25p (PAL) 1920 x 1080, to 24fps once i finish editing. Please help me understand why the footage jumps (glitch) in my timeline, Is it something I should change in my system settings playback field????
Thanks in advance for your help…. (I am working on FCP 6 (HD) )

Don’t edit with H.264. It isn’t designed to be used for editing (complex and processor intensive). You need to convert to ProRes before you start editing.

Search the forum…this comes up daily. Just search for H.264 and see what happens.

H.264 is not a editing codec. Trying to edit h.264 will cause plenty of problems.

Convert the files to a proper editing codec before bringing them into FCP.

I received the files on hard drive given to me by the Director, if i dont have the transfer plugin to allow FCP to import and convert, is there anything else i can do?

Convert using Compressor or MPEG Streamclip.
