  • Plain vanilla “Uncompressed 10bit” capture with AJA ?

    Hi,
I’m going to be capturing some PAL 10bit Uncompressed footage from DigiBeta using a system with an AJA Kona card (I dont know exactally which model).

I’ll be using the footage on another system with a different card (BlackMagic DeckLinkPro HD). Here is my question: Can I capture the footage using Apple’s plain vanilla “Uncompressed 10bit” codec, or do I have to use the AJA codec? I want to avoid any color shifting.

    Thank you !
    Matthew

As long both machines have used the Apple uncompressed 10 bit codec and and have the same version of FCP you should be good. Both cards default to the Apple codec, but it is possible that someone has changed their easy setups to use either an AJA or Blackmagic codec. Just double check they haven’t.
