I need to place my company’s logo over barns and fields. The tricky thing is the logo has to look original to that barn like it belongs, and I’d want it to look like its a blanket covering a field. Oh the barn shot is straight on no movements, the field shot is a bit more complicated its a fly over at a higher speed so I know I’ll be dealing in frames on that one. I think we’re looking for an effect close to movie opens where you fly over the ocean and see the text “floating” just above the water.
    Any help would be great!
    thanks

corner pinning may be the easiest way to place the logo on the barn. play with blend modes and opacity to allow some texture to come through. could even use a color adjustment on a copy of the barn to create a matte that you can use as a track matte for you logo if you need to knock out areas between wood slats or something. could also use the barn image as a displacement map for the logo for some extra depth.

for the next shot, again, blending modes may help let some shading details come through and a displacement map to mimick the highs and lows of the topography will be needed. the fly over shot will most likely need to be tracked if the logo is to be painted on the field. if the logo is floating over the field (traveling with the camera), then the dispacement map will need to animate to move with the topography, or you may be able to fake it with some animated fractal noise as your displacement map.
