Placing a 2D image within 3D video with CS 5.5 – tips / tricks?
CS 5.5.
Imported a 2D image, placed in a comp, and enabled the layer to be 3D. Added a Stereo Camera Rig (thereby creating an additional 3 comps – left, right, and stereo)
In the stereo comp, in it’s stereo 3D controls, I kept the the defaults, except I enabled the “converge cameras”. I then manipulated the Stereo Scene Depth slightly, usually less than 3%. FWIW, I am viewing as balanced Colored Red Blue for now.
I then added 3D video (Cineform) layer in the stereo comp beneath the image. Viola’, 2D image in a 3D space, with some ability for 3D manipulation.
I’m looking for tricks to place the 2D image “within” the 3D video. Stereo scene depth doesn’t seem to help a ton. While I can give the 2D image pseudo depth, the depth of the image still comes from the front of the image being at point closest to the foreground.
Any tip / tricks / notions?
Thanks!
