    Hi
I am trying to do a multlipass render of an animation for compositing in after effects.
i have been trying to use lights to be placeholders so that i can bring 2d elements into after effects. whenever i do the ender the lights don’t turn up in the after effects comp. i’m using 9.6 and i’ve noticed the external compositing tag been mentioned on the forum but how do i use it to export position data. or what settings do i need to get my lights to turn up?
    thanks in advance
    brad

You don’t need lights as placeholders anymore, that’s exactly why the tag is there. Simply aplly it to an object and AE will create a Null object for it.
