    It’d be best to shoot it this way, as in old silent films. The frame rate was around 16fps, but you have to remember the films were handcranked so it would vary. As far as achieving that look in post, you’d have to probably do some sort of motion expression in After Effects I’d imagine. It’d be gentle speed ramps and then you would playback the entire movie at 24 or 30 fps.

    The best way to achieve stop motion effects is to use stop motion animation techniques. BTW, the “Chairy Tale” video does not use pixelation, at least not the minute or so that I actually watched. That’s just some string or fishing line attached to the chair & pulled from off camera.

    Trust me, it does. Watching the whole thing will show you. I suggest you do, its fantastic film. Any other thoughts? I know avid had a similar effect…
