I’m trying to color grade a feature film on Sony Vegas, not easy I must say but my question is, for best output, is the 32-bit floating point (full Range) the way to go? If I use the (video levels) the colors remain the same, if I opt for (full range) the colours get washed out. To me the (full range) makes more sense as there’s less banding in vignettes but I have to add more contrast into the picture to bring it back to normal. I would have thought there would be no banding at all in such high bit rate. Also is the banding caused by poor software filters within Vegas such as the “Soft Contrast”?
