I would like to move the “pivot” point to a specific
part of an object (or group) so I can rotate relatively.

This would be equivalent to the “Insert key” in maya
    if that helps.

    Thanks,

    TH

    Hi:

To move the pivot point just select the two orange arrows in the left panel (standard mode, release ten) and that will indicate the position of the pivot point and you can move it freely with the move tool.

Yes, I know this is in Chinese and everything but it’s the only image I found, the button I’m telling you is located in the left panel, just below the character’s eyes. In the image the move object button is selected, the one that’s underneath it would be the move pivot button.

I assume you have R10 because it seems you just bought it and I don’t have any other version so I can’t help you with them, but I suppose it’s quite the same.

    Ah, yes…that’s better 🙂

Thanks for your help. I was expecting something not so
obvious. And you are correct, R10 is my version.

    Thanks again, cheers.
