  • Pinnacle files into Premiere Pro – what are my options?

    Hello,

A few years ago I was using Pinnacle to edit a small project. It was left abandoned for awhile, and I’ve since moved on to working in Premiere Pro. I’d now like to go back and finish my old project – unfortunately it’s still a Pinnacle project. Googling and searching this forum indicates that there is no way to convert a Pinnacle project into a Premiere Pro project file – what would be my best option here? Just export what I’ve got from Pinnacle and import that into Premiere Pro as a single big clip? Suggestions welcomed here – export settings are not my forte.

    Thanks in advance.

    That is your only option.
Or import all the clips and start over and use the big clip as a reference.

Alright, that’s what I thought but hoped there might be a different/better option I wasn’t aware of.

    Thanks anyway!

What if you go into Pinnacle, render the project as an .AVI file.

    Then import to Premiere.

Thank you for taking the time to post.

Sorry for the extreme delay, I only just saw this now.

Yes I could render it out to an AVI, although the quality probably wouldn’t be very good.

I think this may be the only real option, it’s just going to hurt the quality I won’t be able to edit the individual clips any further. Shame there’s not a better option for moving a project file between these programs – although I guess the programs make them incompatible deliberately.
