Ok, now the question is: If you run pIRender, click the AVI Options button, then select the 4th (not 3rd, 4th) codec in the list, click OK to close the dialog, then close pIRender and run it again, will it crash the next time you click the “AVI Options” button in pIRender?

(BTW, you didn’t need to restart your computer)

The 4:th codec in the list is “CineForm HD Encoder-2”, it crashes when I choose it, but then when I start it again, it choose ? probably the last that worked, in my case full frames uncompressed !!!

You may want to install a tool like “codec sniper” — something that will list all of your codecs, tell you if they are “ok” or “broken”, and let you remove bad codecs.

    Just Google “codec sniper”.

Also, don’t use “full frames (uncompressed)” unless you really need to. I suggest either the “Lagarith” or “Huffy UV” codecs instead. They’re lossless, both support alpha, and will give you MUCH smaller file sizes than uncompressed.

I downloaded the codec sniper, run it, said ok on all my installed codecs, usually I render out *.TGA:s, old habit, but anyway my computer seems to run uncompressed avi:s without any problem !!, but I will install “Lagarith” and “Huffy UV” codecs…
