Picture in picture effect not working (Avid Xpress DV)
I don’t understand what i’m doing wrong. I have two videoclips and I put one over the other, one at V1 and one at V2. I have the monitor on V2. Then I drag the PIP effect from effect palette to the clip on V2. Now the monitor shows the clip on V1, and a wireframe. The problem is that the clip on V2 is not shown inside of the wireframe, and whatever I do I can not see it. I have tried to render the effect with no result. And I have been looking for some kind of opacity parameterm without luck.

Render On-the-Fly is checked. Anyway I have tried rendering the effect without luck. It is very annoying because on all the PIP-tutorials I read the video shows in the wireframe but not on my computer.

As far as I can tell the only two ways that could happen would be if you are monitoring V1 with the effect editor active or you ARE monitoring V2 but have the foreground level at zero.

Foreground Level is set to 100 so that’s not the problem. I’m not sure what you mean by effect monitor. On the left side of the timeline I can see the tracks oval buttons. On each of these tracks you can click the right side to specify which track you want to monitor. If this is what you mean by effect monitor, V2 is the track that is monitored
