I don’t own one however I am interested in the Letus and now the Cinemek you suggested. I had correspondence with Letus today with return policy concerns and they have waived the 20% restocking fee if returned in re sellable condition within 15 days of delivery. Seems fair. Letus has the PL mount and claims their adapter works great with the EX series cameras. Cinemek does offer support as yet for the EX cameras and only 1 lens mount for Nikon. I’m in no worry to purchase one of these products. The Letus does flip the image. Do you have any thoughts?

Oh I have all sorts of thoughts! And right now I feel very much torn between the two units.

I appreciate the fact that the Cinemek G35 has no moving parts, and a shield to go over the stock lens focus and zoom control and alleviate some of the stress when it comes to back focus issues – major issue with the M2. I’m a big fan of the Cinemek not having any moving parts, and not have to worry about swapping out batteries in the middle of a shoot or something silly like that.

A big bonus about the Letus is that it flips the image, but as long as I can flip it the viewfinder – such as is possible with the EX3 – then it’s no big deal. Like you said earlier, flipping it in post is too easy.

So I guess the next question is how important is it to have a PL mount. I don’t own glass of that caliber, but I would like to some day.

(Looking at these guys here! Be interested to hear your (anybody’s) thoughts on these as well.)

So… my thoughts? In my head right now they both in a tight race. I think the new Letus Ultimate would really be the way to go, but it’s in the $4k price range, so it’s not quite a player against a $1200 Cinemek.

    So there’s that…
