  pics for use on an video project

  I have a photo that is made for a logo but the pic has a black background that I need to get rid of before I import it into my Avid video project. What do I need to do to fix it before I import it into my video project. I am using Photoshop cs4 currently….or should I say trying to use it. HELP ME PLEASE!
