The past couple of days my Premiere has been crashing and freezing my system (2013 Mac Pro w/ 64 GB RAM running latest Yosemite and latest Adobe apps).

I got an error last night saying that my computer is completely out of RAM and I need to free some up to continue working in apps. In Activity Monitor, I saw that there was a couple dozen GB of compressed memory (virtual), and in the app list “Photoshop Server” was using 26 GB of active RAM. I didn’t even have Photoshop open at the time and I don’t think I had opened it at all since boot. I do have one imported PSD file in my Premiere project, but it’s nothing too crazy – 4K with a few layers.

What is Photoshop Server, and why is it taking up so much RAM? Is this normal? It seems like a massive memory leak.
