photoshop layers in fcp with video filter
I am adding effects to a photoshop layer inported into fcp hd. In spite of the fact that the title is a layer within a file that is the correct size/aspect ratio, FCP will only apply the video filter within the boundary of the layered image. In other words, when I apply a blur to this title, the blur is cut off at the boudary of the title, and not the boundary of the overall photoshop file – the effect cannot be sized larger that the original title or it gets cropped. Any thoughts?

Fake out FCP’s render pipeline….
Nest it and apply the blur to the nest.My book talks more about the implications of tricking the render pipeline. If you’re into FX, please check it out.
