Photoshop CS4 3d Import Problem
I’m having a problem importing 3d models into photoshop CS4.
System:
Windows XP, Pentium 4, 3.8 GHz;
ACPI Multiprocessor HP Pavilion;
2.87 gig ram;
Nevidia GeForce 8500 / 512mb graphics cardBkground: I’ve watched several tutorials on how to import 3d files from a source like google 3d warehouse. I’ve done the correct steps to import a .dae file…which I believe is an acceptable file type.
When I open a layer from a 3d source, there is nothing visable. I see in the layers pallet the layer with all the textures. I can also see all the textures included within the downloaded file folder, but NOTHING appears in the actual file window. Where is the file hiding?I have tried to scale the image smaller, but when you can’t see anything to go by…well, you can’t see if or what you’re sizing it down either!
What is going on? Is this an issue with my grapics card? Is this an issue with the file type? Do I not have a preference set properly for this import?
Additionally, and simillarly when importing the file into after effects CS4 there is nothing there either. I see the null object…its waaaaayyyy outside the comp window…I scale the z axis back to where the null is in the comp window…still no object or file to be found.
If anyone out there can help….I would greatly appreciated it!
thanks,
g
