Photoshop CS crashing on startup

Do you have a scanner connected to this computer, if so try to update your scanner software or disconnect the scanner to see if this is part of the problem.

Reset your photoshop prefs by booting photoshop and then immediately hold down option command shift and then click yes to reset.

No scanner hooked up at all, or printer. Tried deleting the settings file but that did not work either. Still crashing at the same point. Any other suggestions? I’m stumped.

did you try to disable
/Users/admin/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS/Plug-Ins/Import:Export/TWAIN

or did you reinstall photoshop?

Run applications >> utilities >> disk utility and try to fix permissions.

if that dont work try to move the twain plug in to the desktop to see if that atleast fixes your problem.

Are there any new plug ins which might be conflicting with twain?

There is only a multiprocessor update for CS, but check

Obviously do that if you need to. I like to run these updates cause they write over files, and often fix a corrupted part of an install without having to do a complete Photshop install.

I found a folder that had TWAIN data files on it from an epson printer that had been used on the machine a while ago. I deleted that and it seemed to resolve the problem. Thanks for your help!
