Could someone please tell me why my airbrush creates awful pixelated spray marks whenever I’m working with it!?

Yes I’m still using version 4 (no money to upgrade) but surely this effect I’m getting isn’t right?

I’ve long worked around this but I’ve finally snapped! Why isn’t it like a completely smooth gradient or a gausien blur??

    Heres the effect I’m getting:

I used the erasers airbrush setting to fade out a black border. But I also get the same effect when I use the airbrush itself in normal work. Certain sections of the ‘spray’ are currupted or blocky/pixelated…?

I’ve put up with this problem for so long that I hope someone can finally clear it up for me!

    Any thoughts much appreciated.
