photo to 3d
Posted by Sue Rothberg on March 31, 2009 at 8:10 pmwhen i bring a jpeg or tiff into the timeline and press the 3d box on, the image disappears. how can i get the image to have 3d qualities? what am i doing wrong?

March 31, 2009 at 9:15 pmdo you already have a 3d camera in the comp… if so, then the default 3d position for your image layer is probably out of frame, or there is another layer (or layer) between the camera and the new 3d image layer.
select your 3d image layer and try setting the preview window from ‘active camera’ to top, if needed zoom way out on the preview an see if you can see the selected layer. if you can, reposition it in front of your camera, then switch the view back to ‘active camera’.

April 1, 2009 at 12:30 amAll good suggestions thus far. I just want to add that you can copy the camera’s position and paste it into the 3D layer’s position. From here, using one of the 3D views will give you a better idea as to how to nudge the layer or camera so that it is within the Active Camera View.
