  photo of motion template disappears in fcp

  i designed a 40 second template in motion. i created a dropzone for a jpeg that should stay up for the first 30 seconds, but it disappears at exactly 8 seconds when i access the template from FCP. if i render it in motion it is fine.

  when i call up the template in fcp, i can scrub through the template and see the the jpeg is up for the entire 30 seconds, as soon as i change the jpeg, it disappears at 8 seconds…. if i undo the change to revert teh template back to its original, the jpeg still disappears at 8 seconds….

  what gives?
  i’ve searched the internet over and i’ve seen this one other time and the fix was to reinstall fcp… i don’t want to do that…
