Perspective and Glow on Text
I am trying to create this effect in AE and I feel like it should be rather easy, but I’m finding it really difficult.
It doesn’t have to look incredibly realistic, but I am looking to make this believable.I am trying to create a short animation of text glowing on this pumpkin. I can’t seem to find a decent perspective control. I’ve used CC Cylinder, but it’s not quite there. I also am not crazy that it throws a light on there. Is there another preset, or another route where I can wrap the text around the pumpkin?
I also want to add a glow to make it flicker a bit, but when I add the glow effect, it does nothing. I haven’t used this effect in years, and I feel like they maybe changed it. I tried create the text in photoshop with bevels and shadows to make it look like it was carved into the pumpkin, but when I import it into AE and apply the glow, it doesn’t work. It’s pretty much just applying the effect to the bevel. I even tried creating a precomp and adding the glow to the precomp and it wont do anything.
Any help would be much appreciated!

You can create a curve by adding position and Rotation text animators. Add per character 3D tonit and then adjust the settings for Z Position and Y Rotation. To create a smooth curved, go into the Range Selector> Advanced Options and change the setting from
Square to Round Or Smooth.Once you s done this you can use layer styles in AE to add bevels, shadows and a glow.

And, also, try adding a displacement map to the Text layer. In the DM
Effect, choose the pumpkin as the displacement layer and tweak the horizontal
And vertical settings to taste. The Red channel will probably work well. This will
