I purchased a very fast MacPro to run 1 program in OSX and then use the MacPro & Fusion to handle all the other stuff I do in Windows.

I am a graphic designer and video editor, so I need a lot of “processing power” for things like rendering, converting video formats. I *assumed*, (I know!) that since my MacPro has a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB card, that the virtual PC would have the same thing.

This obviously is not the case. Is there anything that I can do to increase performance?

When I render something from PI in the virtual PC, it says using software rendering. On my real PC, it used to say using hardware rendering, and it was faster.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think VMWare Fusion has OpenGL support, which is why it’s dropping back to using software rendering. You should probably VMWare to find out for sure.
