Performance difference when tracking, two different setups
Hi,
I have two PC setups with Resolve Lite, the other one is with Asus P8P67 Pro mobo and i7 2600K CPU. The other one has older P6T6WS mobo and Xeon E5645 2,53 GHz 6-core CPU. Both have the same GPUs: GTX 285 for GUI and GTX 580 for processing.
I get realtime performance on both with up to 15-18 nodes (HD). The main difference is with tracking. The older setup with Xeon processor is really slow, about 2 fps, but the i7 setup is fast, almost realtime in most cases. Also with reverse playback, the i7 is realtime, but the Xeon is about 12 fps.
Just wondering if the tracking is processed with the CPU or GPU, and what kind of bottlenecks there could be.. or is it just that the new generation of i7 CPU:s have advantage over older Xeons.
