We manage a large tennis video archive with catdv. We ingest matches and log a whole bunch of metadata using user defined fields and markers (players, weather, great shots, shots types etc). We then do editing in premiere, sending clips, subclips or sequences from catdv. Is there any way to get our metadata user fields to show up in premiere? I know we can match some FCP default fields and couple of them also show up in premiere but all the user fields are invisible in the premiere metadata. I also know that I can build a custom metadata fields set in premiere but is there any way to build a correlation between the 2 apps so that our premiere custom metadata set matches our catdv fields? This would be huge for us.

CatDV export via xml or ‘send to command’ currently supports 6 metadata fields.
These can be mapped to Premiere by selecting the relevant CatDV field against the fields (listed below) in the FCP Column template
This FCP mappings menu can be found in the field definitions tab in preferences.
