Pegusus & Avid AMA
Has anyone been able to accomplish this workflow using a CatDV catalogue?
Workflow:
1. Ingest camera QuickTime movies in a CatDV catalogue.
2. Add Metadata
3. Send the catalogued files to an AVID bin as AMA files, keeping the CatDV metadata intact.
4. Link AMA files
5. Transcode AMA files to DNXHD
6. Edit
7. Relink to original QuickTime files for Color Grading.Pegasus is an incredible tool if files are transcoded to DNXHD, then ingested into a CatDV and metadata added. At that point the files move into an AVID bin in the blink of an eye. They are linked and ready to edit. It is a beautiful thing. However if the camera files are ingested into CatDV first, it is impossible to get the files into AVID. Unfortunately I have 6 Terrabytes of assets I need to sort and move to AVID for transcoding to DNXHD. I need the metadata. We have tried MME, but MME strips the metadata and will not work with QuickTimes that need to be linked via AMA.
