Has anyone used the Seagate Baracuda that are approved for the Pegasus 2 R4 on a first generation Pegasus R4?

Some support techs have suggested that the Seagate replacement drives that are compatible with the Pegasus 2 R4 have a high failure rate if used with the Pegasus R4 1st generation raid system, others say this is nonsense.

So I am just checking to see if anyone here has had success using drives approved for the Pegasus2 R4 in a Pegasus R4 1st generation system.

    Thank you.

    Hi Doug,

I don’t think its the drives. If they are certified for use with pegasus, then they should be fine. I think its the controller within the pegasus making the difference between first and second generation.

    cheers
