I have been trying to allocate more of the lane space to the blackmagic card. I have a 3.2 quadcore Mac Pro. In the manual, indicated when I first insert the Blackmagic card, a dialog box will pop up and allow me to allocate. That didn’t happen. When I went to Apple site, suggested that I go to System/Libary/CoreServices/Expansion Slot Utility. When I opened it it said that application doesn’t run on my system.

First, does it matter? My card is currently in slot 2. Second, how do I change it? Is this an Apple only issue?

    Hi,

The latest Mac Pros do not have assignable PCIe lanes. If you look at the motherboard, the number of PCIe lanes are already pre-assigned. This is why the Expansion Slot Utility will not run. Nothing to worry about.

Is there any particular slot I should have the blackmagic card or my sata card in?
