I’m an artist and videographer. My wife Sarah and I have produced a series about painting on location around the country. American Public Television has endorsed our series for distribution to PBS stations throughout the U.S. They require we have a “presenting station” which could be any PBS station in the country.

    We really need:
    1. Suggestions for a PBS presenting station and contact person with arts oriented enthusiasm for our series.(we already have 15+ programs filmed and edited) We live in the Tampa area and our PBS stations here will not help in finding sponsorship or the making of master tapes.
    2. We’re looking for someone who has the capability to take our Vegas projects and make master tapes, closed captioning, etc. to get the programs to their final stage.

You can see some of our programs at:

    Thanks for any input.

Hi Roger and Sarah, I spent a few years at PBS, and off the top of my head, I have some suggestions. I think if memory serves, many of the art/sewing programs currently on PBS came from some of the networks like SCTV out of South Carolina or IPTV Iowa Public Television. If you catch some of those shows there is usually a slate at the end with the station or network of origin. If you have digital, you may be able to find the “Create” PBS network which shows nothing but those kind of shows. I am sure they can always use another especially if it’s already “in the can”

    Best of Luck…

My mistake when you said you were doing videos of painting I assumed it was house painting. I have to say I was very impressed with your work and like the way you are able to bring the viewer along for the ride. One of the gifts I have always wished I had was to able to paint but alas it was not allotted for me. I live in Miami and would love to be a voice for your work here. But to your immediate request.

My brother is a Hollywood editor and now is in the sale end of it, he has worked on many major films and might be able to suggest something. His company can certainly do whatever you need but I am not really sure of what you are asking. If you are interested let me know and I will put you in contact with him.

    Hello Joe,
I have been slow in responding to your post because some help I thought was heading my way concerning my making of master tapes. Getting everything ready for PBS is really a challenge. To my surprise, there is a company right here in Pinellas County just a few miles from me that can make master tapes, closed captioning, etc. I think I’ll be working with them.
They don’t use Vegas however so a work around is necessary. They use Final Cut. They say none of my EDL lists will work to transfer my program to theirs. They are having me bring my system down to their shop and we’re going to work with it.
By chance do you know of an EDL list or something that will bring Vegas into FinalCut?
Thanks for any help. Sorry once again for not responding before now.
    Roger
