Pasting an object into After Effects text box

Hello, I am trying to paste an object (image) into the text box( field) in After Effects..a bit like in inDesign, where text follows an object..is it possible in after effects at all?

Ae doesn’t work that way. You have to import your image into the project (kind of like a linked file in InDesign), and then you can bring the image from the project into the composition as a footage layer.
