Hi fellows. I know it’s a bit OT. Sorry. I just wanted to get attention from the the FCP angle to this matter.

So, I just got myself a new Macbook Pro and I am planning to do fair bit of editing with the machine. Use it as mobile/second edit.

It’s bran new and all and I was wondering is there any reasons to partition the HD from the editing/file managing point of view. My previous comp was a powerbook g4 that I bought second hand and it had HD parted in two. It was pretty alright to manage your files etc until my main part of the HD started to run out of space.

I guess the initial queation is, that is partitioning your HD rather a matter of taste or is there any other reasons behind it?
When I edit, I have all the FCP docs on external HD except the project files. So, that shouldn’t effect on this matter either….

Thanks guys, what a great forum!

It’s like what Lenin said… you look for the person who will benefit, and, uh, uh…
