    Hi Dave,

On the Particular site there is a quote from the guy that did the effect. He explains it in a nutshell.

As far as creating trails. you use the aux system so that a lead particle generates a dense stream of particles behind itself. Then set the scale so that they get smaller with life span. This way it gives the illusion of a thin tail.

He set the physics air properties to match the camera move.

The “Organic Lines” preset is basically the same effect. Change it’s color and initial particle count, while keep the aux system similar.

I understand the use of the aux system, but I don’t understand how to make the lead particle stay on. If I use the reset feature and set the particles to 1 per second down to zero, the lead particle does not follow my null. It just drifts off into space.

Did you set the speed to zero so the lead particle sticks to the emitter position? And the life of the particle longer than your comp?

Well, no, I was wrong me thinks.

I played with it a sec. I got it in the ballpark.

No aux system at all. Turn it off.

No physics (except the drift if you want it)

Set the velocities to zero. Set the particle life to a few seconds. Set particle type to ‘glow sphere’ Set a high number of particles emitted.

So basically wherever the emitter goes it leaves a wake of closely packed glow spheres. So the size over life to drop so it creates a tail.

I’ll give that a try. Thanks
