hello all, i have this small comp im basically practicing on making some cool things and at the end i want my solid to explode. i am using particualr but since the explosion doesnt start until 5 seconds into my comp how can i get an preset to start then as well. it was killing my ram and I noticed that the time it comes in my screen is almost done with smoke.

    hope that makes sense thanks

If I understood well, You just have to drag the layer in which particular is applied do 5 seconds, so the explosion only starts at 5 seconds.

But if you applied the particular effect at the same layer, create a keyframe for the number of particles to be generated to “0” at 5 seconds and at the next keyframe change this number to “200” or whaterver you want it to be.

For logo explosions you should also condider the “Shatter” effect and choose the shape to “Glass” and increase the number of “repetitions”, it sumulates good explosions but no smoke.

    I hope it helps.

duhh, i know what i was doing wrong then, im looking right now. im cutting the layer in the middle instead of moving the start point of the layer, and the reason for my explode is I want the solid to puff up into smoke instead of explode. does that make sense. thanks for the response I cant believe i made the begginers error. not that im pro or anything just getting better
