Is it possible to have one emitter emit particles based on the death of another? For example, if I want bubbles to pop and when those bubbles pop to have another set of particles be emitted.

In Lightwave we would have two emitters and parent one emitter to another. The child’s emitter would be set to be based on the parent’s death. So when a parent particle dies the child would emit particles from wherever that parent died.

    Thanks.

    Not possible in 3.0.

    Thanks Alan,

Are there plans for this feature in updates or future versions? We use PI a lot. We can get what we want out of LW but the fast feedback in PI has us spoiled. We have access to Particular for AE as well but it can’t do this setup either.

Yes, we’ve been thinking about this, but haven’t put it on the “definite” list for 4.0 yet. (There are a lot of things on the “possible” list, but it comes down to how much work everything takes.)

If you can list everything you want this feature to be able to do and email it to support at wondertouch, that would help.

That goes for any feature requests in general.

I’m not going to list what features are planned for 4.0 yet — it’s too early for that.

    Hi Ernest,

I’m a huge user of PI for my particle needs, but I was also in need of the situation you are in. I invested in CHV’s Particles Heaven as a PLAN B for such the occasion. Hopefully that helps. Alan, NO DISRESPECT to PI, I love the product, but thought I’d point Ernest in perhaps a solve for his case.

Ah thanks David but we don’t use Motion or Final Cut on my end.

But this is good to know.
