Hi, I’m not sure how to explain this clearly and if it should be posted in the ae expresions forum…
I’m looking for a way to parent the X or Y position of a layer to the position of one of the edges of an animated square mask applied to another layer that is also moving (animated position). Any way to achieve this ?
    Thanks.

You could create a tiny layer and place it directly on the vertex. Then parent the tiny layer to the masked layer. Of course this only works if you’re using transforms to animate the masked layer. Now all you need to do is to parent the other layer to the tiny layer.

If you’re using transforms and/or effects then track then tiny layer.

BTW, Javascript can be used to select a specific vertex. Take a look at the first script – https://www.crgreen.com/aescripts/ie/

The catch here is that the mask shape is animated and I need the child layer to follow one of the mask vertices.
