Panning an original size photo from center of screen to smaller size in corner of screen without capturing the black void around the smaller size
I am trying take a photo that is located in the center of the screen and zoom out on it while panning it to the corner of the screen (essentially trying to give the viewer the feeling that they are looking at a photo up close then it slowly falls as it zooms away to “land” in its place on a photo album page). The photo album page background I am using is beige. But I find when I zoom out on the photo to make it look like it’s slowly falling and getting farther away, I get a black void around the photo equal to the space of the original size. I want just the photo to be visible and not the void. It ruins the look of falling on a photo album page when it has the blackness around it.
I hope I have explained this well… not sure you are able to visualize what I am talking about.

I am not able to visualize it. Whenever I pan out of a still image there are no black borders.
Can you take a screen capture of the preview window with the black showing? Also a screen shot of the Pan/Crop window at the same point on the timeline.

Debbie, you need to use track motion (found in the left column of your specific track. This way you can also use the 2D shadow to add a bit of realism.

Here are the pictures you requested. I hope they are zoomed in enough. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to screen captures. The first pic is of the original size. The next pic is when I zoom out to make it smaller, where there is now this black void around the pic. I want the 2nd pic to be small and in the corner of the screen, slightly rotated rather than square to the frame.

But wouldn’t this locate all of the pics in the track to the exact same location? I need the pic to move from center to another area on the screen and each picture would need to move to a different area like a photo album page layout.

Yes, you would need to use one track for each picture so, for example, if you had 8 pictures on a photo album page you would use 8 tracks, one for each picture. Track Motion should eliminate your problem.

Actually it would have been better if you use the PrintScreen key on your keyboard and uploaded the full resolution picture. It’s a bit hard to see what’s going on in such small pictures.

It looks like the picture itself has the black border. Is that correct? The picture should just be the picture with nothing on the sides. It looks like you are zooming out of a black 16:9 frame that has the picture in the center. This is what’s causing the problem. You want to drop just the picture into the timeline. Then you can use crop to zoom out.
