panasonic sdx 900
I have a client producing a show on the sdx 900 and want a quick and easy way to upload clips on their website, anyone had any experience with any of the firewire adapters, or any other suggestions?

Yeah you could feed firewire directly into a laptop running say Adobe OnLocation. But then it still has to be logged, probably converted to much smaller H.264s and then uploaded. You can also automate this with Final Cut Server if you’re doing it a lot.

Yes, keep in mind the SDX 900 shoots 50 Mbps DVCPro. 50 mega-bits per second yields about 6.25 megaBytes per second (375 MB/minute), so you’ll probably want to compress before posting to the web…
It can produce really nice SD, though.-jeff
