Hi, I’m looking for advice on using a Panasonic TC-32LX700 LCD to monitor my edited vision. It seems like a good monitor for the job and the price is good too. My budget wont stretch at the moment for a true pro monitor so if this isn’t the one what would you suggest.

    Thanks, Jane

If you are going to use this as a TV as well, I think that’s probably good money spent, but if this is strictly for monitoring, that will not be a good buy.

First off, there is no pixel to pixel scaling, so you will never see what your footage looks like at native resolution, second, there is really no good way to calibrate it for color accuracy.
In the end it depends on what your clients expect from you.

For a little more you could look at this: https://www.fullcompass.com/product/333329.html.

It doesn’t have SDI, but you could use an HDMI card like the Intensity Pro, which is also a good buy.

BTW, you don’t need 32 inches for monitoring. I use a Panasonic BTLH1700W in the edit suite and it’s plenty at 17″.

And I don’t know if do camera work as well, but ideally you want something you can take on location as well for critical monitoring.

    Cheers,

    Vince

But honestly, it depends one what your clients are expectiong.
