Panasonic P2 720p30pn from FCP to DVD Studio Pro-Best export settings?
I’m exporting footage shot in p2, edited in fcp and want to make a DVD (This is for a wedding).
The last one I did looked very splotchy. I tried uncompressed quicktime movies, ProRes 422, and the Panasonic codec but everything didn’t look that great when the DVD was played.
Since I’m in HD and need to downconvert to DVDSP, is there a workflow that anyone would recommend?
Am I missing some buttons that I need to change in DVD SP or FCP?
Should I export first to compressor then to DVD SP?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I export a ref or self-contained QT using current settings (do NOT recompress). I use that QT in Compressor to make mv2 and ac3 files. I use the best quality 90 minute presets. Then I use those files in DVDSP to author the DVD. Never had any problems.

Same for me. I keep everything native in FCP. Export ref movie using current settings. Never had any issues with SD DVD or BR.
