Panasonic Lumix GH2
Posted by Sala Sultan on December 14, 2010 at 6:36 amHello every one!
I’m trying to get the Panasonic Lumix GH2 from USA because the ones we have here in Japan is all in Japanese.. The one in the US has an English menu..
Where can I find the best deal of Panasonic Lumix GH2 with the lens 14-140? I looked up on the Internet but I got confused and I don’t trust most of the stores on the net, any advice?
Thanks!Rafael Amador replied 14 years, 5 months ago 7 Members · 15 Replies -

December 14, 2010 at 7:00 amOther than Japan, the GH2 is barely available in most countries, especially in the US.
To the best of my knowledge, as of today, the GH2 is not for sale by authorized Panasonic US dealers. Or at least, these dealers aren’t actually shipping GH2 cams to customers (some are taking pre-orders).
That will change “soon” as more GH2 cams get into the pipeline in coming days & weeks, but right now pretty much the only GH2 cams in the US were purchased from dealers in other countries, including Canada, Japan, UK & Germany, etc. Canadian & UK GH2 cams have on-screen menus in English.

December 14, 2010 at 7:34 am… and when the GH2 _does_ become available in the US, some very good Panasonic authorized US dealers are:
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/
https://www.adorama.com/
https://www.abelcine.com/In Canada try:
https://www.henrys.com/
https://www.vistek.ca/I’m sure there are others which forum members can recommend.
Cheers.

I managed to snag mine from a Canadian camera store just across the border. The three they were getting were sold before they reached the store!

December 14, 2010 at 10:47 pmB&H actually had a few silver GH2 cams for sale today, but sold out in minutes!
If you haven’t already seen it, check out this (60+ page!) tale of woe:
https://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?226494-GH2-Pre-ordersEventually, this too shall pass, and GH2 cams will begin trickling into the US, but as of today, the flood gates haven’t cracked open yet. Stay tuned.

December 15, 2010 at 2:02 amThanks Peter!! I\’ll check them out
But don\’t u think they over priced the GH2?
In japan you can get the Gh2 with the 14-140lens with 1,500 USD and less but they give u 10%off with points, u can get anything else with those points
One of my friends told me to buy the Japanese one and hack it to English, I have a bad feeling about this so I\’m a go with the sites u provided me
Thanks agai Peter!Sala

There’s no hack available for the GH2, and it’s unpredictable when or if a hack for the GH2 will be available.

I like it! It is my first DSLR-type camera. I really like the touch-screen controls. Being able to tap and zoom in to check focus and interactively tweak the white balance are two really cool features. The 1080-24p video is stunning, but suffers from pretty bad skew/jello when going hand-held. However, this being my first experience with a DSLR-type camera, video-wise, I really don’t have much to compare it to other than my HVX that I’ve been shooting with for years. I really can’t say if the video is any better or worse than any other DSLR-type camera.
